Geometric Black and Gold

Today, I wanted to centre my outfit around the buttons on my skirt.

 

SO easy to plan an outfit around black and gold, but I also tried to pick up on the geometric shapes on the skirt by adding these AWESOME bangles by House of Harlow - I've definitely got my money's worth out of them.

 

 

My necklace also picks up on the colouring in the skirt with a completely different shape than that of the bangles - fashion doesn't have as many rules as people think it does. If you want to mix shapes and colours and fabrics that's probably MORE fashionable than just pairing matchy-matchy accessories with a basic outfit. Have some fun - I wanted to incorporate a little bit of colour into my outfit, so I added these awesome heels. They are literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Office to Girls Night

When I'm working in an office, I want my outfits to be able to transition into a night out for dinner and drinks easily, without being too corporate-stuffy or too bar-slutty.
The main highlight of this post is my shoes. I absolutely love these heels - to me, they look chic and sophisticated and guess where I found them... ALDO. I know, hard to believe right? Aldo teamed up with Preen (look them up if you haven't heard - they're going to get bigger and bigger) and created a fresh line that looks high-end.
Once I knew I wanted to wear these heels, it was easy to pair with a colourful skirt and top, and keep the rest of my accessories white.
Comfy, chic, and sophisticated, you can turn heads in a business meeting and at a martini bar.

Who says Monochrome has to be monotonous?

I love jazzing up the monochrome look with different patterns, so this is my take on monochrome. I've paired acid wash denim shorts with a blurred blue and white striped top. To add some colour and variation, I layered 2 of my mom's vintage necklaces, and wore these oh-so-comfy sandals to bring out the burgundy in the necklaces.
This look really shows that fashion does not have to be difficult. I wanted to be comfy and casual while still looking chic!

Preppy Chic

Look of the day: I've been living in Nashville to work as a marketing intern, and it is HOT here. These Helmut Lang shorts are perfect for the humidity, because they're flowy and chic. I've tucked in a white button-up tank (staple for every wardrobe) to add a level of preppy sophistication. Royal Blue accents are definitely my go-to right now - it's a nice break from the [almost cliché] pop of red.
